Introduction
Tables are used everywhere in ZEuS to organise and display data. Usually, you will be shown tables after using the search function. Aside from customising your table properties, which you can find out more about in the Editing options for tables article, you can further narrow down search results shown in table format by using additional filters. This is an excellent way of reducing the amount of data shown if your search returns a large amount of results and your table has too many rows. You can use filters when, for example, you do the following:
- search for people,
- search for students in the student management system,
- search for courses in the course management system.
Read on to learn more about how to use filters in order to optimise your search results.
Role
There are a lot of menu items where you can find tables with filters. So this point is relevant for different roles in ZEuS.
How to
First, you need to activate the filter function by going to the table header. You can then enter various search terms into the search field in order to further reduce the number of search results displayed.
Step 1: Switching on the filter function
In order to switch on the filter function, click on the Show filter button, which you can find in the upper right-hand corner above your table. You will be shown a number of filtering options. |
Step 2: Applying a filter
Enter your search terms in the fields that correspond to the columns that you want to filter your results for. That way, you will only be shown those rows that contain your search word. For instance, if you enter Information Engineering in the Subject column, you will only be shown the rows that contain the term Information Engineering. | |||||
Go to the Actions column to access the following editing options:

If you want to hide the filter function, simply click on Hide filter. |
